Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning - Customer Case Study

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) in Victoria needed to identify areas and priority assets along its coastline most vulnerable to climate change impacts like erosion and inundation to inform its monitoring program. Spatial Vision was engaged to provide data analysis and data layers for a state-wide assessment to address this challenge.

Spatial Vision implemented a unique three-stage solution that modeled coastal erosion vulnerability and inundation impact ratings, which were then applied to create individual impact profiles for priority assets. The results provided the first-ever state-wide spatial representation of climate change risks to the Victorian coast, enabling DELWP to strategically prioritize its monitoring efforts and target locations for more detailed hazard assessments.
