Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning - Customer Case Study

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) faced a challenge as there was no single, authoritative dataset detailing how state-owned land in Victoria was actually being used. This gap hindered strategic planning and decision-making. Spatial Vision was engaged to develop a comprehensive spatial dataset and analysis tools to address this critical need.

Spatial Vision created a solution that analyzed over 20,500 government properties to identify and categorize their primary and co-located land uses. The result was a reliable, auditable baseline dataset that significantly improved analysis and insight for DELWP. The adaptable solution also included implementation support and training, enabling DELWP to manage the process independently in the future, which promotes long-term cost savings and supports evidence-based government planning.
