Nikkei Information Systems Co., Ltd. (NIS), a provider of mission-critical information systems and specialized 3D CAD software for the construction and building industries, needed faster, more compact 3D technologies for its next-generation exterior and garden design application, ExCAD.Zero. As the software was updated over time, dependency on a general-purpose CAD system added complexity and unnecessary functionality that hurt performance and increased development effort.

To address this, NIS selected Spatial Corp’s ACIS geometry kernel, HOOPS graphics engine, and Application Graphics Manager (AGM) to build a more efficient 3D platform. With support and training from Spatial Corp, NIS developed a new version of ExCAD.Zero that launches and renders faster, reduced data size by up to 30%, and reached the market more quickly and cost-effectively.
