BuildIT Software & Solutions, a developer of 3D model-based inspection software for portable metrology, reverse engineering, tool building, and part inspection, needed a geometry kernel that could deliver better performance and advanced functionality for handling geometric data. The company also wanted unified CAD import support and GD&T definition import, and it turned to Spatial Corp for ACIS, 3D InterOp Suite, and HOOPS.

Spatial Corp provided ACIS for robust 3D modeling, 3D InterOp translators for high-quality CAD file import, and HOOPS to improve rendering and graphical display. The new platform powered BuildIT’s next-generation metrology software, improving performance, support for new and existing CAD formats, large point cloud handling, rollback for undo/redo, and tessellation and multithreading performance for projection-based inspection workflows.
