Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, an oil and gas exploration and production company operating in the North Sea, needed a better way to address unrecovered production caused by unplanned downtime, ageing equipment, and outdated maintenance processes. Spartan Solutions supported the challenge with its PROPHES predictive maintenance platform and PHALANX mobile workforce management tools.

Spartan Solutions worked with Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, the OGTC, and Strathclyde University to build and trial a cloud-based predictive maintenance solution that monitors real-time plant data, applies AI to predict failures, and helps engineers diagnose root causes faster. On the Piper platform gas compression system trial, the machine learning model achieved 81% accuracy in identifying faults, and PHALANX reduced maintenance work order time by 45 to 60 minutes while removing paper-based processing and real-time CMMS delays.
