Balfour Beatty, a global provider of utility services for electricity, gas, telecommunications and water, needed a more reliable way to manage plant, tools and safety equipment across its nationwide depot network. Spartan Solutions helped address issues with paper-based processes, stock inaccuracies, illegible or lost requisitions, and delays in recording equipment movements using its PHALANX solution.
Spartan Solutions implemented PHALANX mobile apps, including Delivery, Return, Depot Transfer and Tag-It, to digitize equipment logistics with RFID tags and rugged barcodes. The result was zero paper processes, real-time stock and fleet visibility, improved equipment utilization, reduced unnecessary stockholding and cross-hires, and better operational efficiency, auditability and accountability across 15 depots supporting over 30,000 items.
