A Sparkrock Case Study
The Canadian Museum of History (CMH), which operates the Canadian Museum of History, the Canadian War Museum and the Virtual Museum of New France, was constrained by a legacy ERP that made reporting slow, paper‑heavy and labour intensive — finance staff had to extract PDF reports and manually rekey data into Excel. After assessing options, CMH chose Sparkrock and implemented Sparkrock 2016 along with Sparkrock Employee Center to deliver role-specific access and modernize processes, all within a four‑month project to meet the April 30 year‑end.
Sparkrock’s solution automated reporting, approvals and procurement workflows and consolidated data access, eliminating manual re-keying and paper invoices. The finance team can now generate board reports with a single click in under a minute versus the previous 3 people × 2 days (2,880 minutes), a 288,000% improvement; the Board and senior management also gain up‑to‑date figures for better decisions, end‑to‑end purchase‑to‑pay visibility, and improved staff productivity.
