Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, which serves 13 schools with 1,160+ employees and a $60M operating budget, was hampered by an outsourced payroll process that required manually posting 300–400 line journal entries each pay period and couldn’t flexibly handle complex deductions for over 500 permanent and 300 casual employees. Although Sparkrock had supported their finance system since 2009, payroll bottlenecks and heavy administrative filing remained a major pain point.

In 2014 Sparkrock implemented its integrated HR/Payroll suite (employee management, advanced scheduling and an Employee Self‑Serve portal) and integrated KwikTag document management with finance and procurement. The result was the elimination of manual journal entry work, more accurate GL allocations (including split jobs by location), self‑service access for about 100 staff and 300 casuals to view pay and hours, streamlined purchasing for principals across 13 schools, faster audits and a significant reduction in paper—freeing HR/payroll staff for higher‑value analysis and saving time and money.
