Entrepreneur Fund Doing more micro-loans and making faster decisions

Entrepreneur Fund, a successful Minnesota lender, had grown rapidly but faced major staffing and sustainability challenges after losing a key funding source in 2011. To keep originating small business loans with a leaner team, they needed a faster, more efficient way to manage lending and support entrepreneurs, while expanding beyond microloans into larger transactions.

SPARK helped Entrepreneur Fund implement a more transparent, streamlined loan process through its JumpStart and SPARK platforms, allowing borrowers, lenders, and credit staff to work from one centralized system. The result was faster decisions, less bottlenecking, improved checks and balances, and a dramatic increase in operational capacity, with Entrepreneur Fund expecting to route 90% of deals through SPARK in 2017.
