Tulpehocken Area School District, which serves about 1,450 students across three schools in northwestern Berks County, Pennsylvania, needed a more effective way to recruit and evaluate candidates for crucial educational roles. With nearly 300 staff members and a high bar for hiring, the district sought to improve early screening, increase transparency, and ensure new hires fit their mission and culture.
By adopting Spark Hire’s video interviewing platform, the district’s hiring committee can quickly move promising applicants from resume review to recorded interviews that staff can watch, rate, and discuss repeatedly. The tool has improved team collaboration, helped assess fit beyond the resume, and even been used to prepare students for real interviews; to date the district has completed 166 video interviews and hired 12 people for roles from administrators and teachers to support staff.
