Amarillo Independent School District, a growing Texas district serving about 35,000 students, needed a way to simplify and clarify hiring and candidate screening while cutting scheduling and staff time away from campus. Facing lengthy phone screens and in-person interviews that consumed thousands of man hours and strained a tight budget, the district explored video interviewing to streamline the process.
By adopting Spark Hire as the initial interview step, Amarillo ISD enabled multiple reviewers to view candidate interviews on-demand, dramatically reducing time spent per interview. Annual man hours dropped from roughly 2,400 to 270 and hiring costs fell from about $103,000 to $12,000—saving the district $91,000 a year—while speeding time-to-hire, increasing transparency, and minimizing the need for substitutes.
