Fleischer's Bagels scales production with SpanTech in a 42,000 ft² facility

Fleischer's Bagels, a family-owned wholesale bakery, faced a significant challenge in meeting high-volume national demand for its more than 50 different bagel designs. Their existing production facility was maxed out, and initial plans for conventional equipment were projected to be labor-intensive and costly at $3.5 million. They called on Span Tech to provide a custom-designed, automated conveyor solution to achieve their needed production goals.

Span Tech implemented its Designer System conveyors, which became an integral part of the new production line. The solution included multiple lanes of MonoSpan and MaxiSpan chain conveyors with independent variable speed controls, allowing raw dough and finished products to be smoothly transported, merged, and transferred in unison through various stages of the baking and packaging process. This custom system enabled Fleischer's to boost productivity within their new 42,000 ft² facility, creating a high-volume, automated plant that is considered unique in the bagel industry.
