Case Study: BESIX achieves smarter buildings and predictive energy management with Spacewell

BESIX, a globally active construction company, wanted to better understand how technology could improve construction, building management, and the user experience. To support its ambition of creating smart, sustainable buildings, BESIX worked with Spacewell and its smart building solution as a test lab in its Dutch headquarters in Dordrecht.

Spacewell’s platform was used to monitor space usage and indoor climate through sensor data, helping BESIX validate new ways of working and link insights to its reservation system. The building also became smarter in energy management, enabling BESIX to predict next-day energy usage, buy power on the spot market instead of through long-term contracts, and intelligently control electric cars and a local battery based on occupancy data.
