AXA Belgium wanted to support a new way of working when moving its Brussels headquarters into a more accessible city-center building. To make the new smart building workable for its 2,600 staff, AXA Belgium needed a space-efficient, user-centered workplace concept with strong mobility, flexibility, and data-driven facility management. Spacewell provided the smart building technology underpinning the project, including an IoT-based workplace solution.

Spacewell implemented an IoT platform using LoRa-connected sensors to monitor occupancy, comfort conditions, and building usage across the 50,000 m² headquarters. The system gives AXA Belgium real-time insights via dashboards and workplace guidance tools, helping optimize office space, meeting rooms, cleaning, and HVAC performance. The project delivered a 0.6 desk-to-employee ratio with 1,540 workstations for 2,600 employees, supported BREEAM-certified sustainability, and contributed to a cultural shift toward more digital, autonomous working.
