The Spanish Ministry of Justice Saved More Than €1.5M in 1 Year

The Spanish Ministry of Justice needed a way to modernize and better control energy use across its widely distributed public buildings, but lacked the human and technical resources to manage costs effectively. Spacewell Energy, through the DEXMA Platform and CIAS COM, helped address the challenge of monitoring and validating energy consumption across nearly 300 buildings while meeting the Ministry’s security requirements.

Spacewell Energy implemented an energy management system with metering and submetering, centralized data aggregation, billing validation, and custom dashboards and reports. The project enabled the Ministry of Justice to monitor 70% of its energy consumption, optimize contracting and power levels, detect unusual usage, and save more than €1.5 million annually, representing 22% of electricity costs.
