Radisson Blue Hotel - Customer Case Study

RADISSON BLU (Radisson Hotel at East Midlands Airport), a 218‑bedroom BREEAM Excellent hotel with a 285 kW bio‑oil CHP, was experiencing unexpectedly high utility costs because HVAC, BeMS, absorption chiller and CHP were not commissioned to operate together or for seasonal change. The hotel engaged Optimised Buildings and the cloud‑based DEXMA Platform to establish baselines, increase transparency and manage overall energy performance.

Optimised Buildings integrated extensive sub‑metering with the Trend BeMS and pushed half‑hourly data into the DEXMA Platform, which used intelligent algorithms to detect anomalies and remotely commission and optimise the CHP, absorption chiller, boilers, electric chillers, HVAC and BeMS. The work by Optimised Buildings using DEXMA delivered measurable savings: 41% reduction in gas, 17% reduction in electricity and a 30% overall kWh reduction, with ongoing remote monitoring to sustain performance.
