Valode & Pistre, one of France’s leading architecture firms, was under pressure to speed up early-stage urban design while staying aligned with French PLU regulations. They partnered with Spacemaker and VPBIM to test Spacemaker’s platform on two internal projects and evaluate whether the software could improve both project optimization and productivity.

Spacemaker responded by developing France-specific “Constraints” functionality so architects could define and instantly check PLU rules directly in the platform. In testing, Valode & Pistre reduced the time to first satisfactory concept from 56 hours to 34 hours, cut the first design phase by 25%, and spent 50% less time creating alternatives, with better decision-making supported by more scenario options and richer concept data.
