University Uses Mobile Work Order System to Connect Students to Campus

The University of Worcester, a rapidly growing UK university serving about 10,000 students across 60+ buildings, partnered with SpaceIQ to modernize its facilities operations using the Archibus integrated workplace management system (IWMS). The university’s goals were to enable mobile working for craftspeople, improve maintenance reporting, optimize communications with users, and create a central, accurate database of space and building information.

SpaceIQ implemented Archibus modules (help desk, mobile framework, space and building operations) to integrate master data, standardize room coding, let students generate and automatically prioritized work requests, and equip craftspeople with mobile devices to manage jobs in the field. The deployment delivered higher‑quality work orders, increased estates-team independence, better operational reporting and performance tracking, more efficient building operations, and reduced paper and travel—improving sustainability and response times across the estate.
