Rome Airports Take Control of 12.5M Square Ft of Space, Saves 80% on Regulatory Accounting

Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), the facilities manager for Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, faced a major challenge: re‑engineering financial, real estate, and facilities management systems to handle rapid long‑term growth (projected from 40M to 100M passengers) and an expanding airport footprint. ADR worked with SpaceIQ to modernize its platform, deploying the Archibus solution (Web Central and modules) to support space, real estate, building operations, GIS/AutoCAD integration and regulatory accounting.

SpaceIQ implemented Archibus Web Central with Space Management, Real Estate & Portfolio Management and Building Operations Management, integrated with GIS, Autodesk and SAP, and centralized 50,000 drawings and related data. The solution improved chargeback and concession management, regulatory accounting and planning, delivering measurable benefits: about 30% savings in data collection/management and up to 80% savings on accounting data management, along with stronger control over ADR’s rapidly expanding airport footprint.
