Largest Singapore University Transforms Space Management with BIM

Nanyang Technological University (NTU), a 33,000‑student campus with 16 residence halls spread across a 200‑hectare garden campus, needed to replace manual facilities management processes and improve reporting, room inventory handling, and lease chargeback tracking. NTU engaged SpaceIQ to deliver a BIM‑enabled IWMS solution that integrated BIM models with Archibus facilities data to provide accurate 2D and 3D space visualizations and centralized FM information.

SpaceIQ implemented Archibus‑based applications (Space Inventory & Performance, Space Chargeback, Personnel & Occupancy, and AutoCAD/Revit extensions), completing the initial rollout in about four months with dedicated data cleanup and training teams. The solution automated reporting and room inventories, enabled real‑time 2D/3D analysis, optimized space and asset utilization, and streamlined lease chargeback processes—boosting productivity, accelerating user adoption, and paving the way to extend BIM to asset management and building operations.
