How Management of +200 Million Sq. Meters of Airport Infrastructure Was Centralized

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Domestic Airports manages GACA headquarters and 23 domestic airports across Saudi Arabia—over 6,500 buildings and 214 million square meters of land—supporting roughly 5,000 employees. Facing multiple incompatible legacy systems and extensive manual processes, GACA needed to centralize accurate space, lease, asset and drawing data, link as‑built CAD plans to its database, and automate lease charging and application of the Saudi Civil Aviation Tariff Law. GACA selected SpaceIQ’s Archibus solution to address these challenges.

SpaceIQ implemented an enterprise-wide Archibus deployment integrated with ArcGIS Server and CAD tools, delivering an Arabic interface and lunar calendar support plus modules for Lease Administration, Space Inventory, Cost Chargeback, and geospatial analysis. The solution automated the full space and lease lifecycle (rules-based pricing, lease creation, activation, audit and termination), preserved legacy data, enabled GIS-based decision-making and tariff automation, and produced a single data warehouse for airport information. As a result, SpaceIQ’s Archibus centralized space/lease/asset/drawing data, improved data accuracy and operational efficiency, standardized leasing/billing processes, and gave GACA timely insights and forecasts for portfolio management across its 23 airports.
