Grundon Waste Management, the UK’s largest family-owned integrated waste management business, needed a computer-based solution to proactively maintain circa 20 sites across southern England, manage assets, and coordinate work orders handled by internal teams and external contractors. In April 2019 Grundon chose SP Marketplace and its SP Facilities solution, migrating from on-premise SharePoint to SharePoint in the Microsoft 365 Platform as a Service (PaaS) to keep applications within the Microsoft cloud and allow for the customizations they required.

SP Marketplace implemented SP Facilities on Office 365 (SharePoint/Teams/Power Automate/Power BI), delivering approximately 85% of Grundon’s needs out-of-the-box and completing tailored changes to meet specific requirements. The migration secured data in the Microsoft cloud, centralized work-order and asset management, and improved site maintenance processes—helping Grundon maintain sites in optimum condition and maximise resource recovery from waste; overall the deployment exceeded expectations.
