A S&P Global Case Study
S&P Global helped a large bank’s Data Science and Artificial Intelligence team turn stale, messy payments data into a usable asset. The bank had 50 to 75+ million records stored in inconsistent CSV files with errors, partial addresses, abbreviations, and mixed naming formats, and it wanted to determine whether this data could support better customer intelligence, cross-sell opportunities, and revenue generation.
Using S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Kensho Link and related Business Entity Cross Reference capabilities, the bank cleansed, standardized, and linked a test set of company records to unique identifiers and richer company data. S&P Global enabled thousands of records to be matched to S&P Capital IQ identifiers and supported uploads of up to 500,000 records at a time, helping the bank automate manual processes, improve data quality, and build standardized profiles for future banking and cross-sell initiatives.
