A Sovos Case Study
The Attilio Group, a cloud-based back-office provider, struggled to file Forms 1099 electronically because its legacy ERP couldn’t support e‑filing. The manual process required annual IRS waivers, led to penalties, consumed significant staff time (including a week-long onsite effort each January), and couldn’t consolidate different client templates. In October 2018 TAG moved to NetSuite and adopted Sovos Tax Information Reporting to solve these problems.
Sovos gave The Attilio Group a single reporting engine that imports varied client templates, performs TIN matching, and handles printing and mailing. As a result Sovos reduced 1099 processing from about a week to less than a day, eliminated IRS penalties and late filings, cut roughly 45+ hours of manual work per filing cycle, and improved customer service.
