Sovos Helped The Florida School Boards Insurance Trust With 10-Series Reporting And TIN Verification, Ensuring Accurate And Efficient Reporting And Mitigating Risk

Florida School Boards Insurance Trust (FSBIT), which provides property and casualty insurance and claims management for Florida school districts, faced recurring post‑filing IRS lists of misidentified TINs and new B‑notice penalties, plus the risk of fraudulent vendors receiving payments. To address these compliance and fraud‑prevention challenges FSBIT turned to Sovos and its Taxport AP solution for TIN verification and improved 10‑series/1099 reporting.

Sovos implemented Taxport AP to automate 1099 filing and perform TIN matching before payments, allowing FSBIT to verify new vendors and avoid costly corrections. As a result, Sovos now handles FSBIT’s roughly 450 annual forms, has virtually eliminated B notices, reduced internal resource burdens, and strengthened due diligence prior to vendor payments.
