A Sovos Case Study
Cities and Villages Mutual Insurance Company (CVMIC), a Wisconsin-based municipal insurer, faced burdensome manual 1099 reporting: its CFO Michelle Voskuil was spending reporting season printing, stuffing envelopes, hiring temporary staff, and dealing with B and P notices. To address these challenges, CVMIC engaged Sovos and adopted the Sovos 1099 reporting solution.
Sovos enabled CVMIC to import 1099 data from Excel, perform name–TIN matching, and automate filing and distribution, eliminating manual printing and mailing. As a result, Sovos helped CVMIC cut a week‑long process to a few hours, remove the need for temporary staff, eliminate B notices for at least two years, and avoid P‑notice penalties, freeing the CFO to focus on higher‑value work.
