The Chartered Institue of Logistics and Transport (Uk) Choose Soutron for Their Library Management Solution

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) needed a more efficient library management solution for its Knowledge Centre, Europe’s largest logistics and transport library. As its international reach grew, the institute wanted better cross-border data sharing, multilingual access, and faster cataloguing and housekeeping workflows while continuing to serve members online 24/7. Soutron had already been supporting CILT with library automation, hosting, and help desk services, and was considered for the next-generation system.

Soutron implemented its new Library Management System with integrated thesaurus functionality, multilingual support, Unicode, and improved acquisition and cataloguing workflows. The solution was hosted by Soutron, removing the need for involvement from the institute’s IT department and giving the Knowledge Centre a single point of support. According to the customer, the system was expected to save significant staff time, reduce training needs, improve indexing and retrieval, and streamline remote work and support across all systems.
