Random House Choose Soutron For Library Archive Solution

The Random House Group’s UK Archives & Library Division needed a global library archive solution to unify two separate systems running on different servers and operating systems, while supporting fast, accurate search and retrieval for a large and growing collection. Random House chose Soutron and its Library Archive System, BARD (Bibliographic Archive Random House Database), to meet these needs.

Soutron implemented a web-browser-based system that consolidated all archive and library information into one platform, enabling complex searching, flexible reporting, and easier cataloguing. The solution can handle nearly 350,000 records in under 1 second and supports the addition of about 3,000 new records per month, while also reducing duplicated data entry and making the collection more accessible and easier for IT to support.
