Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, a mental health services provider in North West England serving more than 5,000 staff across 36 sites, needed a better way to support its library, knowledge, and evidence services. Its existing Heritage library management system was failing to meet staff and user expectations, and the Trust wanted a more reliable, flexible, fully supported solution. Soutron was selected for its versatile cloud-based Library Management System (LMS).

Soutron implemented a fully integrated web-based LMS with no hardware investment or IT support burden, including conversion and training, and the project was completed in less than one month. The Trust now uses Soutron to manage its core book collection, staff evidence reviews, NICE guidelines, and interlibrary loans, while also enabling users to request and renew items online. The results included huge savings, centralized cataloguing across three libraries, improved staff productivity, and greater confidence to support major stock work, including reclassification of more than 3,000 items.
