Geldards LLP, a leading UK law firm with more than 300 staff across the Midlands, Wales and London, needed to replace its existing library management software in 2012. The firm wanted a system that was less problematic and better suited to the needs of a legal practice rather than the education-focused features in its previous solution, so it selected Soutron’s legal library management system (Soutron LMS).
Soutron implemented a more tailored cloud-based library solution designed for legal librarians, helping Geldards improve cataloguing, serials management, and budgeting. According to Geldards, Soutron LMS made the library much easier to use and navigate, streamlined order creation through automatic budget allocation, and provided detailed expenditure reporting; the firm also plans to use Soutron’s flexible database and portal technology to share internal know-how and increase library visibility.
