Vantage achieves 2 million labor hours without a recordable incident with Southland Industries

Southland Industries provided design-build mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection services for Vantage, a customer developing a large-scale data center campus in Goodyear, Arizona. The challenge involved constructing a highly efficient, over 1-million-square-foot facility with fast-paced turnovers and complex cooling demands, all while maintaining an uncompromising priority on worksite safety throughout the multi-year project.

The solution from Southland Industries included installing over 20 miles of piping for a 96,000-ton cooling capacity, optimizing CRAH connections and chiller canopies for efficiency, and reconfiguring layouts to streamline installation. A key result was the project achieving 2 million labor hours without a recordable incident, a safety milestone recognized with a Vantage Vision Zero Award. The data center, scheduled for 2028 completion, will also support next-generation liquid-cooled servers.

Vantage
