A Southland Industries Case Study
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) required a new, sustainable football performance center designed to maximize energy and water efficiency in response to California's drought conditions. Southland Industries provided mechanical and plumbing design services to meet these specific owner requirements for the 72,000-square-foot facility.
Southland's design solution incorporated low-emissive glazing, operable windows for natural ventilation, and demand control ventilation systems to significantly reduce energy consumption. They also implemented a greywater reclamation system for the facility's numerous showers and sinks to minimize potable water use. Southland successfully completed the project, meeting all unique requirements and contributing to the building's sustainable performance goals.
