A Southland Industries Case Study
Southland Industries was selected by Toyota Motor North America, Inc. to handle the mechanical and plumbing scope of work for the construction of its new 2.1 million square foot consolidated North American headquarters in Plano, Texas. The challenge was installing these complex systems across a massive new campus that would unify several previously separate entities.
Southland Industries' solution included the installation and design assistance for the mechanical and plumbing systems, which featured environmentally friendly greywater systems to support water conservation. The project was completed over 27 months with a peak of 300 workers onsite and an excellent safety record, finishing with a total case incident rate of 0.6. The Toyota headquarters achieved LEED Platinum status upon its completion, and Southland Industries' work contributed to the project winning multiple awards.
