A Southland Industries Case Study
Southland Industries provided design-assist mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection services for the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter's new inpatient behavioral health facility. The project's challenge was fulfilling the need for mental health treatment in the region while navigating the complexities of an out-of-market location and an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) agreement.
To overcome these challenges, Southland Industries implemented a 100 percent dedicated outside air system for both first-cost and operational benefits. The solution was achieved through extensive energy and Revit modeling, prefabrication in their local shop, and the installation of a multi-trade riser rack. Through company-wide coordination, Southland successfully completed their scope, supporting the hospital's mission to provide health, healing, and hope for all children.
