A SourceTrace Case Study
Suvidha, the Society for Upliftment of Villagers and Development of Himalayan Areas, is a grassroots NGO working with small and marginal farmers in the Himalayas. As its farmer groups grew, Suvidha struggled to manage transactions manually, leading to errors, limited transparency, poor visibility, and delays in getting centralized, real-time reports for decision-making and sharing with policymakers.
To solve this, Suvidha deployed SourceTrace’s IT platform and piloted it in Odisha before rolling it out across its network. SourceTrace enabled real-time field data collection, management reporting, offline use in remote areas, and traceability from field to market, while also mapping cultivation and farmer data; as a result, Suvidha improved transparency and cut farmer data collection costs by about Rs 5 lakh per project.
