Natural Extracts Industries Ltd (NEI), based in Tanzania near Mount Kilimanjaro, is a social enterprise that helps smallholder farmers increase incomes by adding value to local crops through sustainable natural flavors like vanilla. To address this, NEI partnered with SourceTrace and used its farmer management and supply chain software.

SourceTrace implemented a scalable, secure solution to digitize farmer profiling, geo-referenced farm registration, subsidized vine-cutting transactions, procurement, field monitoring, pest and disease advisory, certification tracking, and training management. The system gave NEI real-time visibility into farmer and crop data, improved planning and implementation, and streamlined training and payment-related workflows. According to NEI, SourceTrace became a one-stop platform for supply chain management, monitoring and evaluation, procurement, payment tracking, organic certification, and training scheduling, helping the company meet its high operational standards.
