Creating a consistent brand sound and a new music strategy for McDonald´s restaurants in Sweden

McDonald's Sweden needed a consistent brand sound and a new in-store music strategy to improve the customer experience. In 2014 McDonald's partnered with Soundtrack Your Brand to deploy an in-store music platform and music-curation service, using Soundtrack Your Brand’s playlists and Spotify data to define and express McDonald's target identity.

Soundtrack Your Brand worked with McDonald's marketing to define brand and music identities, curated playlists that reflect core values, and used Spotify analytics to match music to customer segments—bringing the concept of “the right music, at the right place, at the right time” to life. The result was a consistent, data-driven soundtrack across restaurants that better aligns music to customer moods and preferences, enhancing in-store experience and ongoing brand sound development.
