A SoundMachine Case Study
Magnum launched the Magnum Pleasure Store pop-up in central London to showcase its premium, customizable ice cream experience and needed in-store music that reflected its “Take Pleasure Seriously” brand. Magnum required two distinct but cohesive sonic environments — an upbeat, modern upstairs space for quick, playful custom orders and a more intimate downstairs lounge for masterclasses and VIP Chef’s Table events — and engaged SoundMachine (in collaboration with Sonos hardware and UK partner Perfect Octave) to deliver the audio solution.
SoundMachine created tailored playlists anchored in refined pop, with a lively upstairs mix and a relaxed downstairs program featuring pop R&B and underground electronic artists, avoiding top-chart hits to maintain sophistication. The vendor supplied extensive content libraries (more than 1,000 songs per space, equating to over two days of continuous music without repetition) and worked with Sonos/Perfect Octave on the deployment, resulting in a cohesive brand atmosphere that supports customer engagement, VIP events, and staff morale. SoundMachine’s approach helped unify the experience across both store levels while reinforcing Magnum’s premium positioning.
