White Castle, a major fast-food hamburger chain, sought to enhance its drive-thru experience by investing in advanced technology to better serve its customers. They partnered with voice AI vendor SoundHound to implement their automated drive-thru ordering service.

The solution from SoundHound was a complete end-to-end AI system that automates the ordering process without human assistance. The implementation led to a 90% order completion rate, exceeding previous staff-based benchmarks, and was able to take and process an average order in just over 60 seconds. Based on this success, White Castle committed to expanding the SoundHound system to over 100 drive-thru lanes by the end of 2024.
