SOTI MobiControl provides a savvy solution for Australia’s discount retail outlet

The Reject Shop is an Australian discount retailer with more than 330 stores, three distribution hubs and 5,000 employees. When the company introduced Zebra MC40 Android handhelds to extend inventory control into store aisles, IT needed an EMM that could centrally manage both the new Android devices and legacy Windows CE scanners, support low‑level scripting and file sync, secure content and network settings, enable geo‑fencing, and perform remote OS upgrades without disrupting store operations.

SOTI MobiControl was selected for a pilot that automated an Android Jelly Bean upgrade using File Sync, robust scripting and device‑level logging; after a successful 30‑store test the rollout reached the entire estate in two weeks. The centralized solution cut travel and manpower costs, strengthened security (certificates, proxy settings and geo‑fencing) and validated a single management framework for current and future devices.
