SOTI MobiControl Improves Parcel Delivery Efficiencies

DPD Ireland, formerly Interlink Ireland and now part of GeoPost, is a leading parcel delivery company operating 38 depots and over 300 vans, handling more than 6 million parcels a year (up to 25,000 parcels per day). Rapid growth exposed limits in its prior disconnected handheld workflow—batch-syncing devices, paper signatures and overnight scanning—caused poor real-time visibility, higher support costs, manual rework and scalability problems as volumes increased.

Working with Blackbay and SOTI, DPD deployed Delivery Connect on Intermec CN3 devices with SOTI MobiControl for real-time track-and-trace and remote device management. The solution delivers electronic proof of delivery, ad hoc job dispatch, instant job/status visibility and remote helpdesk control, eliminating paperwork and improving uptime. Results included saving drivers at least an hour per day, an 80% reduction in average support call time, roughly half as many support calls, near-universal driver approval (99%), and faster, more transparent customer tracking.
