PODS (Portable On Demand Storage) is a mobile storage and moving company that serves a network covering more than 230 million people with over 130,000 containers. Coordinating reservations and deliveries across 300 company-owned and franchised locations required managing 1,000+ rugged mobile devices in the field, and PODS faced frequent device malfunctions, time-consuming manual updates, limited end-user training, data-storage overflow and misuse — all over a constrained Sprint‑Nextel iDEN network averaging 14.4 kbps.
