MasTec Advanced Technologies, the DirecTV‑authorized service division of MasTec (over 4,000 employees in 54 U.S. locations), supports a seasonal field force using nearly 4,000 Intermec CN3 and Itronix GoBook devices and deploys 3,200–3,700 devices annually. Managing dispersed devices and multiple third‑party apps created challenges in device maintenance, software deployment and remote support, producing high shipping and support costs and a need for centralized Enterprise Mobility Management.
MasTec chose SOTI MobiControl and used barcode‑driven automated installs (over 2,844 devices in 24 hours) to enable centralized management, remote helpdesk control, fast app deployment and asset tracking. The rollout resolved more than 90% of support calls within minutes, cut shipping costs by an estimated $43,000 and saved about $48,000 annually by keeping devices operational, while reducing support headcount and improving overall ROI and mobile operations.
