How Citizen transformed their internal communications with Engage intranet

Citizen, a major UK housing provider with over 1,000 staff, engaged Sorce to refresh its Engage intranet (branded internally as Oneplace) to support a rebrand and the amalgamation of five subsidiaries. Citizen’s challenge was low engagement and weak governance on their previous intranet, poor access for 400+ remote staff, and the need to communicate restructuring clearly without over-communicating to the same groups.

Sorce implemented the Engage platform as Oneplace with features such as a dedicated “Transformation” page, news and project tabs, microblogs, document management, mobile app access, employee recognition (“You smashed it!”) and interactive polls for events. The result was a more dynamic, centralised hub: regular logins doubled, remote teams gained full access via the app, document workflows and internal content increased, and Oneplace became the primary channel for corporate updates.
