Furniture Village Brings its Office and Deskless Workers Together with Modern Intranet

Furniture Village, a family-owned British furniture retailer with 1,200 employees across 55 stores, Group offices and 15 warehouses, faced fragmented communications and poor document management when relying on email and a shared drive—particularly as many sales staff didn’t have individual company email addresses. To solve this, Furniture Village chose the Engage intranet (branded “Village Life”) from Sorce and went live in March 2018.

Sorce implemented the Engage intranet as a central, mobile-accessible hub—available on PCs, company tablets and sales terminals—with dedicated pages for HR, IT, product information and more, plus strict version control and search for documents. The result: Village Life brought all 1,200 employees together, considerably reduced internal email traffic, lowered the risk of using out-of-date documents and cut internal queries, while increasing engagement through news, recognition and staff contributions.
