Case Study: South Wales Police achieves digital transformation and increased employee engagement with Sorce's Engage intranet

A Sorce Case Study

Preview of the South Wales Police Case Study

Engage intranet software plays major part in digital transformation at South Wales Police

South Wales Police engaged Sorce to replace an ageing intranet with a modern, mobile-first solution that could boost interactivity, employee engagement and support remote working while making information easy to find and business processes digital. The force needed outstanding search, clear structure and the ability to digitize paper forms and push targeted communications to diverse roles across a 5,200-employee organisation.

Sorce deployed its Engage intranet as “Bob,” a feature-rich site that includes powerful contact search, group targeting, microblogging, video/live broadcasts, team spaces and integrations with HR and other data sources. The intranet is used by over 5,000 people (300+ regular content contributors), supports 60–70 workflow-enabled digital forms, offers 150 quicklinks and targets nearly 500 groups; HR data syncs four times a day. These improvements—which helped Bob win the SORCE “Best intranet of the year” award—have measurably increased engagement, streamlined processes and become the primary communication channel across the force.
