Local Government, a city council operating 26 childcare facilities serving about 4,000 children a year, was struggling with a manual rostering process that relied on phone calls and emails. The legacy approach caused long "ring-around" times (often 1–2 hours to locate available staff), frequent unfilled or over‑staffed shifts, call‑back interruptions and higher operating costs. They engaged Soprano Design to modernize shift offers and staffing communications using Soprano MEMS – StaffMatch with A2P API SMS integration.
Soprano Design implemented an A2P API integration with the council’s HR rostering system to send automated two‑way SMS shift offers, confirmations and reminders, enabling a configurable pool of unlimited workers and a fair “first‑to‑respond” fill method. The solution eliminated the lengthy phone searches, allowed the council to fill temporary and permanent vacancies quickly, reduced under‑ and over‑staffing and associated costs, and improved contact data hygiene by reporting undelivered messages.
