Ugandan Government Organization Chooses Sophos to Build a Reliable Cybersecurity Posture

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), a Ugandan government organization with 420 users, needed to harden its cybersecurity posture against advanced attacks and protect a newly distributed remote workforce with a small IT team. After evaluating vendors on usability, support and comprehensive protection, UNBS selected Sophos and deployed a G310 XG Firewall (Full Guard) plus Central Intercept X Advanced with EDR (420 licenses) and Central Intercept X Advanced for Server (16 licenses) to unify network, endpoint and server defenses.

Sophos delivered an integrated solution managed through Sophos Central, combining XG Firewall’s IPS/ATP/VPN and web/app controls with Intercept X’s AI-driven, signatureless protection and EDR (including Live Response and Live Discover). Since deployment, UNBS reports zero virus attacks, improved network and system performance, reduced investigation workload, faster remote incident response and simplified countrywide management—demonstrating measurable time savings and stronger, automated threat isolation and cleanup.
