Sightlife - Customer Case Study

SightLife, a global non-profit focused on eliminating corneal blindness, needed a cost-effective, enterprise-grade firewall and VPN solution as it expanded worldwide, migrated to a new data center, and rolled out Microsoft Skype for Business. To protect patient privacy and reduce dependence on complex Cisco gear and outside consultants, SightLife worked with partner TurnPoint Technology and chose Sophos, deploying Sophos UTM and Sophos RED.

TurnPoint implemented Sophos UTM in high-availability across SightLife offices and Sophos RED to create secure VPN tunnels to branch sites and partners. The Sophos solution delivered faster VPN setup (tunnels in roughly 30 seconds to a minute—about one-tenth the time of competitors), better Skype for Business QoS, easier administration for new IT staff, fewer consultant calls, and a scalable platform for replicated data centers and disaster recovery—helping SightLife focus resources on its mission. Sophos enabled these measurable improvements in security, performance, and manageability.
