McKenzie Aged Care Group, a privately owned aged care and retirement provider with 17 residential facilities, two retirement villages and roughly 2,300 staff across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, needed a sophisticated, multilayered cybersecurity solution that would protect sensitive health data without distracting care staff. Sophos deployed a layered, integrated stack centered on Sophos MTR’s 24/7 managed threat hunting, detection and response, alongside endpoint, email, firewall and data loss prevention controls. The solution gave MACG real‑time visibility and unified reporting, rapid remediation (quarantine/removal/escalation), and allowed Sophos to implement an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) data‑loss prevention policy within weeks so email and endpoints now demonstrate compliance. The result: stronger resilience across McKenzie Aged Care Group’s 17 facilities and two villages, clearer metrics and control, and greater confidence that threats will be detected and handled promptly by Sophos.
